Fernando Betanzos won a very close and competitive race among the top three swimmers at this weekend’s 8 km Cruce Cancún in Cancún, Mexico. It was his second consecutive victory in the largest marathon swim sea race in the Yucatán.

His 2 hour 1 minute victory qualified him to represent Mexico at this summer’s Central American and Caribbean Swimming Federation (CCCAN or Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Natación) Championships in Trinidad and Tobago and the 2017 FINA World Championships in Hungary.
