Final Frantic Sprint In Traversée du lac Memphrémagog

The exciting and controversial finish of the 34 km Traversée Internationale du lac Memphrémagog between Olga Kozydub (Russia), Silvie Rybarova (Czech Republic), Martina Grimaldi (Italy), and Celia Barrot (France), with Tomi Stefanovski (Macedonia) and Alexander Studzinski (Germany) in the mix, is shown below.

After the athletes rounded the final few turn buoys in the 34 km course, they can charging down the last 200 meters, but all of them missed properly entering the finish chute.

Once they realized their mistake, they had to U-turn and go through the finish chute marked by two yellow buoys. Ultimately, it was Tomi Stefanovski and Olga Kozydub who finished first among this group after being led astray by Martina Grimaldi of Italy.
