Yash Daryanani, the national swimming team coach of Suriname, along with Elena Romantsov, Lisa Bocchino and Sid Cassidy are organizing the First International Swimming Camp in Boca Raton, Florida from August 12th-18th. Swimmers from 5 continents have already signed up for the week-long camp at the Duff Tyler Aquatic Complex at St. Andrews School.
Coaches from the USA, Russia, France, Suriname, Indonesia, Australia, Brazil and South Africa will guide the twice daily swim workouts, dryland sessions, and classroom lectures. Eney Jones and Sid Cassidy will headline the open water swimming portion of the camp.
In addition to the week-long camp, open water swimmers, triathletes and masters swimmers can focus on a shorter, open water-focused camp between Augst 14th-17th. Eney Jones will headline these sessions where she will work on stroke and breathing techniques, and discuss dry land and open water exercises specific to open water swimmers and triathletes.
Jones who has competed at the world-class level in both the pool and open water since the 1970’s will also offer cross training secrets, nutrition and recovery.
Southern California native, born 1962, is the creator of the WOWSA Awards, Oceans Seven, Openwaterpedia, Citrus Corps, World Open Water Swimming Association, Daily News of Open Water Swimming, Global Open Water Swimming Conference. He is Chief Executive Officer of KAATSU Global and KAATSU Research Institute. Inductee in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (Honor Swimmer, Class of 2001) and Ice Swimming Hall of Fame (Honor Contributor - Media, Class of 2019), recipient of the International Swimming Hall of Fame's Poseidon Award (2016), International Swimming Hall of Fame's Irving Davids-Captain Roger Wheeler Memorial Award (2010), USA Swimming's Glen S. Hummer Award (2007, 2010) and Harvard University's John B. Imrie Award (1984). Served on the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee and as Technical Delegate with the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games, and 9-time USA Swimming coaching staff.
