Freestyling For Firth Of Forth

Freestyling For Firth Of Forth

Back in July 1929, the renowned historical figure Mercedes Gleitze swam across the Firth of Forth.

Now 8 decades later, swimmers can tackle the same 1.4-mile course tomorrow in the Firth of Forth Swim across the Forth from Hawes pier, South Queensferry to the pier at North Queensferry.

The Firth of Forth is the largest estuary on the East Coast of Scotland, leading out on to the North Sea between Fife and Lothian with the old Forth Rail Bridge presenting beautiful sighting against the coastal scenery.

The charity swim is aiming to raise money for Amycos that support development and cooperation projects in Central and South America.
