International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame Honor Coach Gilles Potvin spoke with International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame chairman Ned Denison about his eventful career on today’s WOWSA Live.

In this interview, the 78-year-old former police officer from Quebec talked about:
* his beginning as a runner, decathlete, powerlifter, and cyclist when he compared his own performances to the world’s best, as a percentage
* training with Hall of Famer Herman Willemse
* reading the swimming book by famed Australian coach Forbes Carlile
* serving as a Boy Scout and thinking about crossing lac St-Jean
* remembering the motto of his hometown of Roberval: With a Valiant Heart, Nothing is Impossible
* competing in 45 km Marathon du Saguenay in 1968, a race won by Abou-Heif, where he finished 11th in 9 hours 43 minutes
* coaching John Kinsella in the Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean where he set the record 5 times while winning 6 times
* recalling the tough, fun-loving nature of Philip Rush of New Zealand
* coaching Steve Wozniak when he was sick, drunk and cold in lac St-Jean at the Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean [see snippet below]
