Gran Fondo Venezia By NAL
Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California. On July 8th, the second stage of the Circuit Gran Fondo Italia 2017 will be held: the 15 km Gran Fondo Venezia in Venice.
The 2017 Gran Fondo Italia is an open water swim series in Italy organized by Alessandro Pilati of Swimming in Open Water (NAL) with other Italian organizers that includes:
20 swimmers are entered from throughout Italy, the United States, Switzerland and Australia.
“The Gran Fondo Venice course follows the coastline from the beach at Camping Garden to Camping Marina di Venezia as the swimmers pass the Lighthouse of Punta Sabbioni,” said event director Cristiano Bevilacqua.
“The event will also offer SwimRun biathlon races and a 1.5 km swim that doubles as a regional championship race. Marco Bovi is currently the men’s leader and Silvia Ferdin leads the women.“
