The current water temperature in the Lake District’s Windermere was measured at 17.1ºC this morning. The elite athletes at this weekend’s Great North Swim were informed of the possibility of a traditional neoprene race becoming a non-wetsuit race. The final decision will be taken on Sunday, in the morning of Great Britain’s largest open water swimming extravaganza in the world in consultation with British Swimming.
