The fabulously fit Spyridon Gianniotis of Greece put an exclamation mark on his 2012 season with a win in the final race in Shantou, China.

Traveling to all 6 out of the 8 races on the professional circuit – only taking time off to compete in the 2012 London Olympic Games where he finished fourth in the 10K event – Gianniotis proved his abilities in all kinds of conditions and venues.

Along the way, he comfortably won the 2012 FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup series over Christian Reichert of Germany, Allan Do Carmo of Brazil and 168 total professional marathon swimmers from around the world.
