Haley Anderson Is Going Home

This weekend, Olympic silver medalist Haley Anderson is going home to Granite Bay in northern California this weekend.

But she will be back and continue training with Dave Salo and Catherine Vogt at the Trojan Swim Club in Los Angeles.

Anderson is simply going home as part of USA Swimming Athlete Partnership Program that will take her back to her early days with the Sierra Marlins Swim Team at Lake Natoma in Folsom, California.

I’m so excited to go back home and promote open water swimming,” Anderson said. “This sport has given me so much, and I can’t wait to share it with the community and team that I grew up with.”

The 2013 gold medalist in the 5 km open water swim at the FINA World Championships will given a 3-hour open water swimming clinic on August 31st that focuses on race techniques, navigation, drafting, and water safety for the expected 300 participants. The Athlete Partnership Program enables and empowers national team swimmers to encourage both younger children and older adults to take up swimming as a healthy and positive activity.
