While the swimmers, skippers, paddlers, and escort crew will be on the water or onshore, others can spectate from above in helicopters.
Slingair Heliworks WA will be part of the 2013 marathon swimming event with scenic flights available. Departing from the Lake Argyle Resort Helipad, flights are $95 per person and will run once there is a minimum of 4 people on the flight. Individuals or groups can not only view the expanse of Lake Argyle from the air and marvel at the Dam Wall, the hydro electric scheme and the Ord River, but also cheer on the swimmers below as they swoop in to take in all the action during the 10 km and 20 km marathon swims.

Inductee in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (Honor Swimmer, Class of 2001) and Ice Swimming Hall of Fame (Honor Contributor - Media, Class of 2019), recipient of the International Swimming Hall of Fame's Poseidon Award (2016), International Swimming Hall of Fame's Irving Davids-Captain Roger Wheeler Memorial Award (2010), USA Swimming's Glen S. Hummer Award (2007, 2010) and Harvard University's John B. Imrie Award (1984). Served on the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee and as Technical Delegate with the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games, and 9-time USA Swimming coaching staff.
