Stephen Redmond traversed not only the North Channel, English Channel, Catalina Channel, Tsugaru Channel, Molokai Channel, Cook Strait, and Strait of Gibraltar, but he also traversed the world to achieve the Oceans Seven.

Throughout his travels, he collected not only memories and established friendships, but he also collected and generated an international portfolio of invaluable photos and videos of his adventures.

And now they are gone. Stolen. Pinched. Lifted. Robbed. Snatched.

And Redmond wants its after his laptop was taken from offices in Market Street, Skibbereen. Generations from now those images and videos of his Oceans Seven exploit will still be cherished as dozens of swimmers will have followed in his footsteps in the Oceans Seven challenge. “It’s an old Sony laptop but it has all our photos, video, contact numbers and other material from all the Ocean Seven Challenges. It’s worthless to anyone else but it’s priceless stuff to us,” Redmond told the West Cork Times.

The Ballydehob swimmer will be honoured as the 2012 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year at the 2013 Global Open Water Swimming Conference in Cork, Ireland on October 11-13. Here’s to sincerely wishing that his historical record of his feat and his laptop are returned to its rightful owner. “The material on the laptop is a record of all these swims and we want to get it back that why we are offing a reward for the laptops safe return.”
