Please email here the following information (to [email protected]):

• your full name
• your city and country of residence
• the swim location (e.g., English Channel, Boston Light Swim)
• the direction of swim (e.g., England to France, Catalina to mainland, North Island to South Island, Spain to Morocco) if appropriate
• your official time
• the average water temperature in °C or °F
• your age at the time of your swim (VERY IMPORTANT!)
• your birth date
• the date of your swim

This is one example: Joe Smith, Sydney, Australia, English Channel, England to France, 10:35, 16°C, 48 years old, 28 July 1962, 1 August 2009

Notes:
1. If you have did a two-way or three-way crossing, please indicate your time per single crossing. That is, if you did an English Channel two-way swim, please separately indicate your time from England to France and your time from France to England. This is one example: Joe Smith, Sydney, Australia, English Channel, England to France, 10:35, 16°C, 48 years old, 28 July 1962, 1 August 2007 + France to England, 12:45, 16°C, 2 August 2009

2. If you have done multiple crossings of any one channel, please indicate your age and time for each crossing. This is one example: (1) Joe Smith, Sydney, Australia, English Channel, England to France, 10:35, 16°C, 48 years old, 28 July 1962, 1 August 2009 + (2) Joe Smith, Sydney, Australia, English Channel, England to France, 12:15, 15.6°C, 51 years old, 28 July 1962, 23 August 2010

The information will be posted at Open Water Source after a sizable list of swimmers is compiled for each of the 30 swims by age (e.g., 39 year old females in the English Channel, 45 year old males in the Catalina Channel, 59 year old males across Lake Zürich, etc.).

Of course, every marathon swim is different, no two marathon swims are ever alike and there are many more marathon swims around the world than this initial list of 30 swims, but this list may be a good start to begin an ongoing analysis of marathon swimming by chronological age and water temperature.
