If You Need A Paddler, Use These Guys
John Kucera and a bunch of his paddle boarding colleagues are participating in the Ocean of Hope/Sarcoma Alliance. They are racing in the Catalina Classic 32-mile Paddleboard Race on August 25th. “Every little bit helps the cause. I do not know what the conditions will be for this year’s crossing, nor do I know how I will place, but I do know it will be a big challenge no matter what conditions Mother Nature deals us. My challenge, however, is in no way near the challenge of those diagnosed with sarcoma.”
The Catalina Classic paddleboard race dates its origins back to 1932 when Tom Blake wins the first Catalina paddle board crossing going 29 miles in just under 6 hours.
