Doloranda Hannah Pember accepted a International Swimming Hall of Fame honor on behalf of her mother Mercedes Gleitze in 2014.

Now, five years later, Pember wrote a biographer about her mother, In The Wake Of Mercedes Gleitze. While much has been written about the famed International Swimming Hall of Fame Honor Open Water Pioneer Swimmer, Pember had a lot of personal information and background materials that had long been stored in the family archives.

Mercedes’ personal records and pictures, recollections from acquaintances and newspaper articles of the time form the source materials for Pember’s unique perspective on her humble and incredibly accomplished mother whose career spanned decades and continents from her native Britain to unprecedented swims in Australia.
