Ingemar Macarine Successfully Swims Surigao Strait

Ingemar Patiño Macarine completed the first crossing of the Surigao Strait (Kipot ng Surigaw) today by swimming 10.99 km in 3 hours 37 minutes from Sumilon Island to Punta Bilar, Surigao City in the the Philippine Sea.

Strong currents changed direction five times,” wrote Ingemar. “With thousands of nasty jellyfishes. The swim is to promote clean seas and Surigao tourism.”

His crew consisted of Edwin de la Cruz and CJ Alliah.
