Is Swimming In Cooler Waters Safer?

Swimmers who have been stung by marine life in Mexico, Australia, the South Pacific, the Caribbean Sea and other warm bodies of water understand very well the pain, discomfort and effects of jellyfish stings that are felt by cold-water swimmers in the English Channel and Catalina Channel. Is there any relationship between the warmth of the climate and the venomous effects of marine life?
