There are often times in open water swims when your arms feel like useless noodles and your hips drop as your legs become heavy anchors. Especially when the water is turbulent and cold and your hips start pointing downwards, your arms start feeling heavier and heavier.
This is when the open water swimmers’ adage, “80% mental and 20% physical“, comes into play and swimmers dig deep.
But former national team swimmer Eney Jones (shown on left) and former world record holder Jesse Vassallo developed two products that help somewhat replicate these conditions in the pool. The patented Eney Buoy by Jones and the D-Band by Vassallo are previewed and explained by GoSwim.tv below:
