Lew Kidder announced the new Swim to the Moon, a point-to-point 5K race through a picturesque chain of lakes near Ann Arbor, Michigan. Because much of the shoreline is owned by the government, swimmers can enjoy an experience like swimming through the Canadian wilderness as they finish at Halfmoon Lake Beach.
An additional one-mile triangle course also available, called The Crescent Moon on August 22nd.
Athletes swim throughout Patterson Lake, Round Lake, Island Lake, Watson Lake and Halfmoon Lake where the water is refreshingly clear and warm (above 75°F) and where two aid stations are positioned along the course.
Swimming to the (half)moon is something not to be missed.
