Jaimie Monahan Crosses Lake Geneva

While many thousands of people throughout history have walked, run, jogged, hiked, biked and journeyed for 24 hours straight on land, there has only been a few more than 100 people – ever – who have swum for more than 24 hours non-stop in an open body of water.

Jaimie Monahan of New York crossed Lake Geneva in 32 hours 52 minutes – the 53rd longest solo swim in human history – and became the first American woman to cross the lake (see here.
