It is a guarantee. And Joanes Hedel of France made it a lock by winning the 2013 Traversée Internationale du Lac Memphrémagog in Magog, Canada today.

Hedel guaranteed Xavier Desharnais will come back to Magog next year. “It would have been huge if I won,” says the 23-year-old who finished second for the second time. “I am going to keep on doing this race until I win it. But Joanes is tough,” he smiled and winked.

Both Hedel and Desharnais has the elements working in their favor today with high winds, severe surface chop, and a pace that proved to be faster than normal.
