Jumping Off To A Good Start

Alex Meyer, a world championship swimmer from Harvard University, won the beautifully clear 1-mile St. Croix Dolphins Sea Swim this weekend in the US Virgin Islands.

After a conch shell start and a 7-meter jump off the Frederiksted Pier, Alex covered the warm-water course in 19:53 to win a gold-painted stunningly huge conch shell and a silver Crucian Hook bracelet (a traditional piece of jewelry on the island), which is one of the more unique set of awards in the open water community.

Harvard teammates Blake Lewkowitz and Mason Brunnick finished second and third, respectively, in 20:06 and 20:09.
