Justin Drury + Kate Vines = Positive Foundation

Justine Drury and Kate Vines are expanding upon their successful 9 hour 58 minute two-person English Channel relay, SNC Channelling Positivity.

The dynamic duo that raised nearly £13,000 for the South Nottingham College and Teenage Cancer Trust from their 2011 English Channel swim and received the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2011 Nottingham City Council’s City Sports Awards and the Channel Swimming Association Special Award for their efforts.

Justine, a physical education teacher, and Kate, a coach and graphic designer at Paper Rose, are marketing and pushing forward on their Channelling Positivity Foundation that is aimed at inspiring young people and communities to lead positive lives by taking on physical challenges. For example, they raised over £2000 by working with the Portland Swimming Club on their Swim the Channel event. Young swimmers between the ages of 8 and 18 swam as many lengths as they could in a pool to see how many times the club could cross the channel.
