FINIS, a world leader in technical swimming products, announces the sponsorship of New Zealand’s top open water swimmer, Kane Radford.
Radford is training hard for his second consecutive Olympic quadrennial. In 2012, he was selected for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in the 2012 London Olympic Games, but he had to watch the event from home because did not meet the qualification standards that the New Zealand Swimming Federation required in order to be sent to the Olympics.
This time, he wants to achieve his dream, not face another nightmare for Rio 2016.
From his wins in the New Zealand Ocean Swim Series to his winner-take-all victories at the RCP Tiburon Mile (2009, 2011, 2012), he has shown a competitiveness that hints that his goals will be realized.
“Kane is an athlete that adds electricity to every event he is a part of,” says FINIS CEO John Mix. “He is a total gamer and a true racer. The more that is stake and the more he is pushed, the better he performs. I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen Kane gut through a tough finish to win the race in the last few hundred yards. He is more than welcome on our team and I’m glad we have the opportunity to work with him.”
