Katie Ledecky Leads Open Water Swimmers

Katie Ledecky nearly set another world record in the 800m freestyle in 8:10.32, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the rest of the field, at the at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Several open water swimmers finished in the top 8.

Stephanie Peacock finished third in 8:24.71; Lindsay Vrooman finished fourth in 8:29.10; Ashley Twichell finished fifth in 8:29.85; Haley Anderson finished seventh in 8:33.66.

Meanwhile on the men’s side of the equation, Jordan Wilimovsky qualified second overall in the 1500m in 15:05.89 and will be one of the favorites to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics, along with the fastest qualifier Connor Jaeger who swam in 14:58.59.
