It’s brutal, but Dan Projansky is still going at it.
The committed butterflyer from Chicago is in the middle of his 12.5-mile FKCC Swim Around Key West and Mother Nature is giving it all to him. “If you are going to make it, it’s not going to be easy,” is what She seems to say with her surface turbulence, slosh, and wind all day long down at the southern tip of Florida this Saturday morning.
All butterfly. No breaks, no walls, no freestyle.
Postscript: Projansky hit an insurmountable oncoming current and was boat-assisted to the finish. He completed 9 of the 12.5-mile race in tough conditions.
