Kicking Drills For Open Water Swimming

A strong kick is an important part of open water swimming technique. Powerful bursts of speed are needed at various points during a race and the legs are strong contributors. In this piece we demonstrate kicking with fins and a snorkel for proper body alignment and we introduce the ‘hug drill’ which adds resistance to your kicking.
