Kids Ocean Day Brings Attention To Sharks
When young children can see and do something spectacular, it creates a lasting impression.When many of them do something spectacular together, it can create a powerful movement and a lasting mindset.
This is what Doug Woodring and his colleagues at Ocean Recovery Alliance aim to do with their open water swims, community events, film festivals and human aerial art extravaganzas.
The 14-second time lapse video below shows the artistry of more than 1,000 children and 150 volunteers in a spectacular human aerial art created on Repulse Bay Beach in Hong Kong yesterday as part of Kids Ocean Day. “The children’s aerial art formed a shark with a detached fin. Then they moved in unison to re-attach the fin, symbolizing the improved health of the ocean environment under the leadership of artist John Quigley of Spectral Q,” explains Doug Woodring, Event Organizer and Founder of Ocean Recovery Alliance.
