Kimberly Chambers Going For #5 Of Ocean Seven

Kimberly Chambers Going For #5 Of Ocean Seven

Kimberly Chambers has done the Cook Strait between the North and South Islands of New Zealand, the Molokai Channel between Oahu and Molokai Islands in Hawaii, the Strait of Gibraltar between Spain and Morocco, and the Catalina Channel from Catalina Island to the California mainland.

Next up: the English Channel, her #5 on her journey to the Oceans Seven.

Tomorrow morning under the Channel Swimming Association, she will begin her swim. “On board my crew consists of Melissa King, the Dolphin Club swimmer who most recently kayaked the entire 20 mile Catalina Channel next to me 6 weeks ago, and Dolphin Club member, Emma Perez, who just completed a relay swim across the channel.

Melissa and Emma will keep watch over me, providing me with a carbohydrate drink every 30 minutes throughout my journey. My boat pilot Andy King will chart my course across the Channel with the help of his boat crew. I’m in very good hands.

It’s going to be a wild adventure
