Elaine Kornbau Howley reported on the 2011 Boston Light Swim, “We had a great day. Perfect, conditions with nearly no wind, glassy water, and warmer-than-normal water temperatures hovering between 62 and 64 °F.
The swimmers also had a strong tidal assist and a warming sun, so we had a higher-than-averge finishing rate with only one person getting out early. Matt McKay pretty much walked away with the solo swim.
