Kristy Kowal Gets Hungry For Open Water

Years ago, Kirsty Kowal was biting a real Olympic medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games for her 200m breaststroke race.
Now the school teacher’s attention is often captured by open water swims where she competes from California to Cayman Islands and many lakes, bays and seas in-between.
At the Naples Island Swim in Long Beach, California last week, Kowal joined forces with localite Lexie Kelly who won the 3-mile race overall. Kelly will be heading from Naples Island in California to the original Naples when she competes in the 49th edition of the Capri-Napoli professional marathon swim on September 7th in Italy.
