Martí Riera lost mobility in his legs due to an accident.
Spanish filmmaker Cristian Coll is producing a motivational documentary film called La Gran Travessa about the 37-year-old from Minorca about his preparation and attempt of the Canal de Menorca that stretches 37 km between the Balearic islands of Menorca and Mallorca in the Mediterranean Sea.
Despite his inability to walk on dryland, Riera is taking on this personal challenge in order to show that his disability is not a hindrance to swim from his native island of Menorca to the neighboring Mallorca.
