The Historical Society of Central Florida will announce on May 9th that Lucky’s Lake Swim is a significant occurrence in Central Florida history.

Lucky’s Lake Swim has been a staple event for not only Central Floridians, but for many Americans, Olympians and international visitors from 50 countries over the past 25 years.

Lucky’s Lake Swim has brought together people from around the world with a common cause and a common goal: swim across the natural spring-filled waters of Lake Cane as a great way to start the day in Orlando.

The namesake and drive of the open water phenomenon, Dr. Lucky Meisenheimer, sees the recognition given on May 9th as an opportunity to break the existing record of 240 for the total number of early morning swimmers.
