
Lake Travis Relay Adds First Responder Category

The American Swimming Association announced that a new First Responder category for its 11th Annual Lake Travis Relay on October 11th.
The First Responder Category includes Law Enforcement (including police, sheriff departments, FBI, etc.), Firefighter, EMT, Military, Lifeguard, and Open divisions. The Open division includes any combination of other First Responders. The event also includes Male, Female, and Mixed (3 men and 3 women) categories each with the following aggregate age divisions: 72-107, 108-239, 240-299, and 300+.
The Lake Travis Relay is a 6-person, 12-mile open water swimming race in Austin, Texas run by Dr. Keith Bell and 3-time Olympic gold medalist Sandy Neilson-Bell.
“A limited number of entrants can swim the course solo,” explains Dr. Bell of Austin’s Top 10 Recreational Events, and one of America’s Top 100 Open Water Swims and World’s Top 100 Open Water Swims.
