The Legacy of Dave Parcells Lives On With The January Jam

Honoring the spirit and legacy of International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame Honour Swimmer Dave Parcells, the 2012 January Jam begins on January 1st and continues through January 31st. January Jam swimmers track their yardage (or meterage) in a contest to see who can “jam” the most yards (or its metric equivalent) into 31 days. The January Jam was created to promote fitness through swimming while raising money for the Dave Parcells MS Fund.

In 2007, Dave passed away during the Tampa Bay Marathon Swim at the age of 49. Six months before he died, Dave was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

The January Jam is a tribute to Dave and to support the MS patients and their families who are faced with expenses not covered by insurance as they undergo treatment.

The entry fee is US$35 with 100% of the fees benefiting the Dave Parcells MS Fund.
