Jorge Paulo Pereira founded the Swim Challenge Cascais in 2012, the first open water swimming event organized by a private entity in Portugal. Local swimmer with a great passion for water sports leads him to meet Miguel Arrobas – former Olympic swimmer; Pedro Brandão – his trainer; and Nuno Felício, forming a team that organizes the first event.
The following editions affirmed the Swim Challenge as one of the biggest events in the country, growing uninterruptedly until the year 2020, when it was canceled due to the pandemic.
A competition where great names of swimming in Portugal have already passed, it resumes in 2021 with the 10th edition, a beautiful “race field” framed by a scenario full of history and unique natural beauty, inspiring great achievements and unforgettable memories.
