Long-lost Trophy Recovered For The Wash

Paul Hopfensperger, founder of the International Open Water Swimming Association (IOWSA) announced that IOWSA found and now owns the original 1904 Solid Silver Butlins Trophy for the swim across The Wash.

IOWSA‘s first sanctioned swim will be Paul‘s swim across The Wash on the east coast of England from Hunstanton to Skegness in September.

Paul plans to join quite a select crowd after swimming across The Wash: Mercedes Gleitze, Kevin Murphy, Tina Spry and Mike Read. For more background on this swim, go here.
