The British swimmer from Westerham, Kent is now attempting to complete the circle and achieve the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming with a September crossing of the Catalina Channel.

As a 58-year-old, she will be one of the oldest athletes to join the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.

At the age of 62, Bob West is the oldest to complete an English Channel, Catalina Channel, and Manhattan Island Marathon Swim. At the age of 60, Mo Siegel is the second oldest. At the age of 59, Carol Sing is the oldest women to complete the trio of marathon swims and at the age of 58, Barbara Held was the fourth oldest swimmer.

In addition to Cox, there will be many other individuals over the age of 55 and even a handful of individuals over the age of 60 who will join this prestigious club of marathon swimmers over the next decade.
