European Aquatics has reported additional significant details regarding the masters open water swimming competitions set to take place at Madeira 2023.

For the first time, the European Masters Short Course Championships will be held from 19-25 November in Portugal. The events, which include the 1.5km on 20th November and the 3km on 24th November, are scheduled on the second and sixth days of the competition. Both events will be hosted at the LIDO Bathing Complex.

Participants can check in from 8 am local time, a full two hours before the first wave of swimmers will commence their races. Following waves are set to start at 15-minute intervals.

A comprehensive classification will be conducted for both absolute and gender per Master age-group. The organizers are committed to ensuring the safety and support of all participants. This includes the provision of power boats, kayaks, SUPs, and a dedicated support boat equipped with medical professionals.
