Marcy MacDonald, Dreaming, Preparing and Succeeding
Marcy MacDonald became the fastest American and first American woman to swim 70K around the Isle of Jersey today. Finishing in 9 hours and 59 minutes, Marcy just missed the overall record set by Alison Streeter (9:53 set in 1989) and the men’s record of Richard Flambard (9:56 set in 2002).
Her coach and escort Sally Minty-Gravett said, “The sea conditions were perfect with a flat calm sea and glorious sunshine at her 5 am start. At 11:15 am, Marcy is having a great swim and was joined a couple of times by pods of dolphins who have kept her company.”
