
Marta Piasecka of Iceland Wins Close Race to Capture 100 IM World IISA Title
The 31-year-old Piasecka became the second swimmer from Iceland – after Maja Olszewska in the 100m backstroke – to capture a world title this week.
Piasecka broke the world record of Alisa Fatum of 1:16.81 set at the IISA 4th World Championship – as did 15-year-old silver medalist Ezmee Jones, 21-year-old bronze medalist Zoé Ducret, and 35-year-old 4th place finisher Michelle Lane in a highly competitive race.
