Matt Drew Running Towards The Open Water

Matt Drew is a 40-year-old open water swimmer from Glasgow, Scotland. He has completed an English Channel relay and an end-to-end swim across Coniston Water as well as participated in the Scottish Gas Scottish Open Water Swimming Championships, Scottish Masters and the Ye Amphibious Ancients Bathing Association mile swim.

I love swimming in the lochs and rivers of the UK. It is fresh water all the way,” says the Ranger at Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

I started open water swimming in 2010, got an [English] Channel relay under my belt and enjoy swimming with my masters swimming club, The Glasgow Nomads.”

Drew found his way from neoprene to bioprene in the River Clyde a few years ago. “I signed up for a swim across the River Clyde. It was my first dip in open water. I have now flung away the wetsuit and enjoy proper open water swimming in my trunks 3 or 4 times a week.”
