Nadine Horn, Swimming Along The Danube River

German-born Nadine Horn who has done research at the Comparative Genomic Centre in Australia and has worked as a freelance journalist and travel writer is embarking on 3 Border Triathlon next month.

The eclectic adventurer, currently in London, will begin a 3 Border Triathlon where she will cycle 485 km across Switzerland, swim 550 km across southern Germany along the Danube River, and run 315 km across Austria.

Her 550-km stage swim will take her along the Danube, the second largest river in Central Europe. She will do a 91-stage swim wearing an XTERRA wetsuit and carrying a waterproof case from Aquapac. She will swim from Donaueschlingen in Germany to the Austrian border near Passau.

Along the way, she will stop in Donaueschlingen, Pfohren, Gutmadingen, Geisingen, Hintschlingen, Immendingen, Moehringen, Tuttlingen, Nendingen, Muelheim an der Donau, Fridingen, Beuron, Thiergarten, Gutenstein, Inzigkofen, Sigmaringen, Sigmaringendorf, Scheer, Blochingen, Herbertingen, Binzwangen, Riedlingen, Zwiefaltendorf, Rechtenstein, Obermarchtal, Untermarchtal, Munderkingen, Rottenacker, Ehingen, Nasgenstadt, Oepfingen, Erbach, Donaustetten, Goegglingen, Neu-Ulm, Elchingen, Nersingen, Weissingen, Leipheim, Guenzburg, Reisensburg, Offingen, Grundremmingen, Lauingen, Dillingen, Steinheim, Gremheim, Donaumuenster / Erlingshofen / Furtmuehle, Zusum, Donauworth, Marxheim, Bertoldsheim, Stepperberg / Hunderthalermuehle, Bitterbrun / Ausschloeschen / Laisacker, Neuburg an der Donau, Joshofen, Berheim, Gerolfing, Ingolstadt, Grossmehring, Irsching, Vohburg, Pfoerring, Neustadt an der Donau, Bad Goegging, Hierheim, Kehlheim / Affecking / Kelheimwinzer / Untersaal / Obersaal, Lengfeld, Bad Abbach, Sinzing, Kneiting, Regensburg, Barbing, Donaustauf, Bach an der Donau, Pfatter, Oberzeitldorn, Niedermotzing, Straubing, Parkstetten, Bogen, Ilrbach, Stephansposching / Mariaposching, Metten, Deggendorf, Deggenau, Niederalteich, Winzer, Hofkirchen, Pleinting, Vilshofen an der Donau, Windorf, Schalding IdDonau and Passau.

Depending on the route, the exact distance may change plus or minus 10 km. You never know. It is an adventure. The cities are in and around the Danube, but not all of them are exactly on the Danube.
