Prior to the new Open Water Pursuit races after the USA Swimming National Open Water Swimming Championships, there will be five pre-race clinics where swimmers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can learn, see and practice key technical skills of open water swimming from former world open water swimming champions.

Drafting, positioning, navigating and pacing are subtle techniques that can certainly help make your swims easier and more enjoyable.

These skills are especially important in the 2 km and 4 km Open Water Pursuit> where teams of 3 or 4 swimmers partner up and start, compete and finish together in an aquatic peloton.
