New Leadership at the Australian Long Distance Swimming Federation

The Australian Long Distance Swimming Federation (ALDSF) announced its new leadership team, President Doug Hughson with Vice President Val Kalmikovs with Chris Guesdon is the Patron.

Guesdon said, “The outgoing administrators of the past generation having achieved historic strategic and tactical success have seen the recent growth in marathon swimming. This has led to their aspiration for a new team to be appointed to take the ALDSF into the future.

In 2023, the Australian Long Distance Swimming Federation celebrates its 50th anniversary and in 2022 was inducted into the Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame.

The organization has had continuous success to this day with established programs and introduced new events for marathon swimmers. However, innovation is crucial to the continuing success of any organisation as without innovation the best strategy of this day by no means guarantees future success.

The ALDSF is home to the Derwent River Big Swim and the Australian Triple Crown of Marathon Swimming.
