New Zealand Engineer Smiles And Laughs, But Is No Joke

New Plymouth (New Zealand) local Keith Allum is fighting fit for life and for the State New Zealand Ocean Swim Series underway.

Whether it is the State Harbour Crossing in Auckland in November, the State Paihia Classic in Bay of Islands in December, the State Capital Classic in Wellington in January, the new La Grand Swim in Akaroa, Christchurch in February, the State Sand to Surf in Mt Maunganui in March, or the series climax at the State King of the Bays in North Shore, Auckland at the end March, the retired engineer is ready.

In the New Zealand summer, he swims at the beach in New Plymouth and has been a regular fixture in the Flannagan Cup in Ngamoutu Beach. Keith wants to get his family involved, “They are probably too embarrassed. But I know the grand kids are coming along to watch me at the Mount swim for a laugh“.

Whether serious at the start or smiling at the finish, Keith’s unbridled enthusiasm and energy are something to behold.
