Night Train Swimmers To Swim Around The Farallones
Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California. Where there are islands, there are always open water swimmers who dream. Big or small, tropical or uninhabited, there are hundreds of thousands of potential circumnavigation swims around the world.
But perhaps none are as potentially dangerous and life-threatening as what the Night Train Swimmers will attempt this weekend.
In the case of the Farallon Islands, the home base for a resident population of Great White Sharks, the Night Train Swimmers dream big. They want to do a unique, unprecedented open water swim.
“On Sunday, we are taking some Night Train Swimmers out to the Farallones,” explains Vito Bialla. “We plan to be the the first swimmers to circumnavigate around the Devil’s Teeth. It is a little over a mile with huge waves, but only two great whites who live out there year-round. I’m swimming it; my shoulders are healing.”
The Night Train Swimmers will circumnavigate around the island on the far right in the photo above.
