Where there are islands, there are always open water swimmers who dream. Big or small, tropical or uninhabited, there are hundreds of thousands of potential circumnavigation swims around the world.
But perhaps none are as potentially dangerous and life-threatening as what the Night Train Swimmers will attempt this weekend.
“On Sunday, we are taking some Night Train Swimmers out to the Farallones,” explains Vito Bialla. “We plan to be the the first swimmers to circumnavigate around the Devil’s Teeth. It is a little over a mile with huge waves, but only two great whites who live out there year-round. I’m swimming it; my shoulders are healing.”
