Every swim can be a challenge, especially for those swims across channels, around islands, and up rivers.
With every challenge in the open water should come a support crew that includes people both on the water and onshore.
The Santa Barbara Channel Swimming Association is offering an observer training session on May 30th in Santa Barbara, California. “If you are a swimmer, observer. crew or someone interested in learning more about marathon or channel swimming, we encourage you to attend at the Cabrillo Bathhouse,” says president Scott Zornig. The class will run from 9 am to 1 pm and includes a free lunch. If interested, please RSVP to Dave Van Mouwerik at davevm@att.net.
The address is Cabrillo Bath House at East Beach, 1118 East Cabrillo Blvd., Santa Barbara, California 93101. For more information, visit www.santabarbarachannelswim.org.
