Ocean Mysteries Around Santa Catalina Island

Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California.

Catalina Channel swimmers swim from Santa Catalina Island around midnight, surrounded usually by a near pitch darkness. They often simply boat in from the mainland, only briefly stepping on the island before heading back towards shore. While they often enjoy the visible bioluminescence around the surface of the water, but what lurks before and what is on the island is usually unseen.

Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin explore what the Catalina Channel swimmers are missing.
