Official Log Of Jennifer Figge’s Atlantic Traverse

Her Atlantic Crossing 4 was her best swimming effort yet of her 4 crossings to date.
She swam a total of 133.25 hours, covering 265.4 nautical miles (318 miles or 491 km) while drifting 2,792.9 miles (4,439 km) over the 32-day period.
While the crossing was safely accomplished and Figge swam longer in terms of time and distance than her other swims, the perspective of the Captain is always comprehensive and safety-oriented. “The duration of Jennifer’s swim was reduced during the last week of project. This was due to equipment failure. All 3 Shark Shields on board had battery issues.
I did not let Jennifer swim without one. So we had to take her out of the water and change the Shields every 45 minutes while the other unit was charging.”
