After a good showing in the 15 km race last week at the Maratón Acuática Internacional Ciudad de Rosario, and finishing fourth in last year’s race, Olga Kozydub of Russia started out in the lead and hung on for 8 hours 42 minutes to beat the more experienced veterans on the professional marathon swimming circuit in Santa Fe, Argentina today.
Swimming confidently, Kozydub was pushed by Silvie Rybarova of the Czech Republic and Esther Nuñez of Spain who finished in second and third respectively.
The tour continues next week in an 88 km marathon in Hernandarias. The final results:
